I had gone to lunch with my prof and a earlier-day colleague of his a week or so back..... this guy happened to be knowing a lot more about India and Indians much to my chagrin, i mite say... so in of those conversation starters he told me abt a few of his indian friends at work,..... and that he had seen them go on a vacation home and come back married...... it was so surprising to him as well as to some others here, how ppl can get married without getting to know their partners at all.....i was about to take the tried'n'tested route of "its an age-old tradition thing", when he interjected and probably found out the reason for its existence today, when he quipped "These indians are smart, coz if something goes wrong with it, they can very well blame their parents.. they picked her"....... yeah and there lies the secret of the indian marriage... the absence of guilt.....
