I'm so bored to write... got lotsa things to write abt... but just cudn't .... i'm warped in a totally stupid schedule working at nights and sleeping all morning.... can't get it off my system.... and add to that the funniest of dreams (this one classifies as funny as the in the rest i inevitably save the world) .... and at about 11 ( a.m of course) I dreamt of being a movie reviewer.... gosh! y didn't i think of it as a career b4... couching on movies good and bad .... and select the choiciest of words to bash them.... and the best part i get appreciated for that.... i dunno y they hold movie reviewers in high regard.... bloody damn its just a personal opinion... but done and dusted, i read them for even the stupidest of movies..... maybe its just like the option of asking previous buyers of the product... kinda "mami" outlook on sarees ..... and most reviewers are old... was just watching Ebert and Roeper ...how can they ever appreciate a cult movie like Matrix... ever... perhaps they take ur word only if u r over 3 stones of age... perhaps an interesting career option wud be a side-kick to one of these guys... anonymity can be helpful too.... and if ur still reading thru this post u wud have invariably noticed that I have fallen asleep somewhr in the middle.. so zzzz later...

MEN vs. WOMEN

Vetti sent this forward... saves a lot of blogging time u see with posts like it... a couple of my friends got married last month.. hope they don't read my blog...here goes.....
What is the difference between men and women?

1.A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man.
2. A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he wants. A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't want.
3. A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't. A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, and she does.
4. There are two times when a man doesn't understand a woman- before and after marriage.
5. A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband. A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.
6. To be happy with a man, you must understand him a lot and love him a little. To be happy with a woman, you must love her a lot and not try to understand her at all.
7. Any married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing!
8. A woman has the last word in any argument. Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

BOYS have all the fun.....

And so it happened... after countless days of waiting ..(actually its more or less a week)... BOYS was expected with such heightened anticipation as no other Saturday night movie ;-) ... the setting was perfect... well to say the least it was worth the ride from start to finish although jittery at some points.... BOYS was just pure fun... jolted out of the seats on "Aunty-pandaram's" antics early on ...typically gross... although cud have seen that happening in a Shankar movie ala Indian, Gentleman but this was way too obnoxious.... It's this kinda movie when u know whats gonna happen in the end.. and u have read those umpteen reviews about a band of young talents... making it big against odds.... but u see it for the treatment..... Intro scenes were amazing just the right narration and to the first installment of songs... way too good.... doubting Rahman is like questioning Sachin's prowess... inexcusable... oh! i shudder to think of those poor souls who failed to release the audio.... Amazing dancers they were... Bob kaly was just phenomenal... nowadays i burst into peals of laughter on just seeing Vivek appear on screen.... he is just amazing.. toned down to the needs... still carrying the movie on his charm.... Then come the blips... unnecessary songs... extended dialogues yaaawn!!!... the worst of the lot some really tacky animation... Shankar i guess has been so obsessed with the use of animated characters joining the sing & dance routine... it's ok for "never-seen-animation-b4" audience and front-benchers... but i beleive thats a mighty little percentage this day and age... cud have done without.... oh not to forget the one too many "Matrix - like" freezes... more Yaawn... it's Ravi.K. Chandran alright ...but it can never be Kannathil Muthamittal.... and abt Harini a.k.a Genelia D'souza... looks really cute... then again she will one of those heroines who' will disappear into inevitable oblivion.... loved the on-your-face dialogues... esp. by Kumar.. and the Ayappa song is indeed a minor masterpiece.... I've been used to seeing the same movie repeatedly... but for this one I didn't have the inclination... sums it up all... worth the wait.. worth the watch ...ONCE...

Weekend Blues......

Things are too slow in weekends esp. if u don't own a car... confined to the lab walls for most of the day... and hours in front of the beaming light of the computer screen can get u feeling drowzy... this is what I've been through... but I'm not complaining.... it shud be worth it someday.... I'm pretty sure abt that... For long I've always cringed on asking favours from ppl... If something is self-doable (pardon me for the extrapolated use of the English language)... I'm right on.... but for the last couple of months I've asked favors which I normally don't... ppl never say no ...atleast not emphatically... and without persuasion they wud do it... but suddenly one day when a friend declined an ordinary request ... and I started thinking how I have changed... this is so UN-ME... how can I have changed so soon... beleive me when I say I hate asking stuff... I've sometimes been awfully chided for being like that.... every1 said i shud be bold enuf to get ur work done... but for me that was like the worst possible thing .... to ask a favour however worthless that may be.... i hate to brag... but i beleive i'm fiercely independent... so little time and so much change.... atleast I noticed that... looking for ways to get back on to those good 'ol days..... btw watched BOYS yesterday.. will soon be treated to my stupid take on that....so long
My stupidest post...what was I thinking???

As lazy as I am, I find it hard to keep up with other ACTIVE bloggers...plz don't mistake me for being busy..... I am never that.... isn't it that hard to keep up-to-date.... the whole of today spent on a useless piece of code.... had to put in the effort.. .but i shud have resigned earlier... shud have known it's gonna be worthless.... but then I was wondering......
*-* If film-producers who know the story to be total crap....the cast incapable...the technicians worthless.... still go ahd and make the movie and do it repeatedly
*-* Independent candidates in elections who perfectly know they're gonna loose their deposit still compete for the candidacy...
*-* Planning commision guys always know the plans to fall short of funds, can't be completed on time... still go ahd and start workon these stuff...
What drives them?? .... On any other day I wud call it lunacy...but since today i was at their end...I call it HOPE. Any takers on this being my stupidest post so far...plz feel free to voice in ur brickbats.;-)....B4 i miss it...here's welcoming my friend Kaushik to the world of blogging...

Yippeeee !! ...got my drivers' license today... had rented a car over the weekend... cudn't bear the thought that I was the only one without that... and I was stretching my Instruction Permit deadline as well.... went really well.. except for a stupid mistake which I had thought flunked me... but luckily enuf i passed... cudn't help comparing to the one that I got in India... didn't own a car back home so had to register in a class for that... well, teaching me how to drive wasn't the goal apparently... but getting me a license was... and there were express orders for a license too... RTO office in India is the best manifestation (shud it be the worst ?) of corruption in India... i shudder to think of the sleazy looking faces... forgive if any of the readers do happen to work there... but u have to cave in to the truth... the moment they see u it's like they're scanning ur pocket's depth... the person who had presented my papers ... my driving vathiyar... was what they call an overtly influential.... the health certificates "bought" were indeed a disgrace to the whole process.... still wondering how they'd beleive that every1 had a mole (grossly spelt as moal) in their right arm and a scar on their neck... perhaps they were intutive enuf to know they'd "GROW" that someday.... totally gross.... and u don't care whether u wore glasses or not or u can tell signs or colours... it doesn't matter as long as u pass the right buck under the chair ( many times over it)... today I feel a I'm a proud holder of a driving license... something I feel I had worked towards it.. unlike that guilty day a few years back.... and a big thanks to all those who stopped by... feels that kinda extra special to get noticed....

In the news.....

The most definitive of things from classes 5 through 9 in my life are sipping through hot mom-made filter kaapi and reading intently through "The Hindu" with my dad and my grand-dad ... My family is such a loyalist to this newspaper...and they wudn't change that even if they gave the other one for free... but the valid question is y change it... i like hindu's unbiased presentation and the overall quality of articles esp. the editorials...of course used to collect several young world issues.. the one thing that didn't change is that y every1 started reading it from the back.... i didn't question it... maybe they didn't know y either... after some time i think i kinda became too old to do that so early... and apart from that the demise of my grandfather and occupational transfer to my dad changed the routine...but still last pages were read first.. i bet a whole lot of ppl do that.... and recently i stumbled upon this quote which kinda unravelled it..it goes .. "The sports pages highlight man's achievements.. the front ones his failures - Earl Warren"... Irrefutable reasoning eh!!

The name game....

I've run outta topics to discuss... but this one... and is abt my name... I for one find it queer (in a good sense) and not so common... atleast that was the case in my school ( and found it ever so common thereafter)... but i'm totally dumbfounded as to y film villains are christened Ranjeeth... especially the baddies' (main villain) son ...typically a spoilt brat.. goes for the heroine and gets thumped at eventually... u might wanna ask y after so much time this popped up... last week i was watching a movie when suddenly it struck me... and u know how ppl catch on to it and there was this big discussion onto that..... this goes the same as y chocolate-faced hero roles demand a Raj or a Prem.... or the ones like Rocky which have flirted successfully with both good / bad ones.... Returning to Sanity.... the TECH Football season started this weekend... A perfect chilly day to start the proceedings and we thumped SMU Mustangs 53-10 ......easy pickings admittedly... but was relatively a new program without quarterback Kingsbury.... BIG - 12 is a tough group.... and we're in for more tougher matches ahead... but I kinda relate Tech to the Mercurial Indian Cricket team... on their day can beat any1... but can match high school standards as well.... next up is New - Mexico State University... looking forward to attend the same.... if i get up early enuf... neway if somebody do feel whats in a name or otherwise do pop in ur thoughts ..... so long.....
